Welcome

Code  M Magazine is a direct result of my life’s incredible journey and a glimpse into
some of the extraordinary people I have met, and continue to meet along the way.

As I labored in bringing my vision of CODE M to “life,” it has been a long, hard and sometimes discouraging process. If not for the overwhelming response and encouragement I received from some
of the individuals I contacted, and some, of whose articles and photographs you’ll read and see in these pages, I don’t know if I would have had the fortitude to endure and complete this project
you’re reading.

In talking with various men about CODE M Magazine, and why I decided to take on the challenge to address men’s issues, I received a resounding response. “It’s about time.”

Ron E., from Atlanta wrote, “There are so many issues with which men face that are never discussed. We (men) have been taught to be silent when dealing with issues never spoken about, to feel pain but never cry, to be a protector and provider but what about our need to feel protected or provided for? I love the idea of CODE M being a magazine for men, where all issues are discussed transparently.”

I first give thanks to God, for the many blessings he has bestowed upon me. Thanks for my wife, Heidi, for enduring my many absences while working on this project and for my
children (Shelly, Tonitia, Dain, Sharif and Amira), and my grandkids because their precious lives represents my enduring legacy.

I also thank my friend, mentor and constant encourager when I began to have doubt, Ms. Alexandria Johnson Boone. I would be remiss to not mention Mr. Nicholas E. Perry, my brother from another mother and foremost, my brother in Christ, to whom I owe a debt of appreciation for his support and ability to keep up with my non-stop dreaming.

Special thanks to the Howse Solutions and Sway Effect creative team: Christopher Howse, Lisa Bottoms and Jennifer Coiley Dial. Also, thanks to all of the contributing writers who gave of their time and effort to submit the interesting content you will read.

I offer a sincere and heartfelt thank you to each and every one of you.

The first issue will include articles from China, Morocco, Kazakhstan, Chicago, New York City, Durham, N.C etc. So, men, let’s begin to take this journey together, to learn from each other,
to encourage each other and to forgive ourselves and each other. It’s about time and it’s about CODE M Magazine.

Peace and Blessings!
